Flinchy Mane the Lion

Flinchy Mane is a large by unusually timid male lion that's from Felitropolis. During his first encounter with the Ponies, he got scared and hid in the bushes, but then managed to speak to them and aquatint with them after Fluttershy's comfort. He is voiced by Bruno Mars.

Despite his species being portrayed as one of the top predators of the savannah, Flinchy is shy, timid and very soft spoken but shows kindness, forgiveness and empathy towards the ones he cares about and often offers them encouragement, specially if they standup for him when he is in dire predicament.

In other words he is like the feline counterpart of Fluttershy, and like his Pegasus friend he can also be capable of bursts of bravery and rage when provoked.

He seems to have a strange fear known as Mikrocibophobia, which is a fear of tiny foods due to him choking on a frozen meatball as schoolaged cub.

APPEARANCE

Flinchy Mane is a large male lion with imperial-yellow fur, a smoldering red nose and lemon-eyes. He has a shiny orange-juice colored mane and tail tuft, both with pale shades streaks.

When standing, his shoulder height is about the same as the hoof-to-head height of an average Equestrian Pony stallion or mare.

When he is forced to overcome his shyness and use physical strength, Flinchy can be a formidable opponent. Being a lion, one of Felitropolis's strongest races, Flinchy Mane posses great strength, speed as well as his fangs and claws which can penetrate the hides of some enemies.

Flinchy Mane also has a signature move called "The Roar", in which he can roar very loudly to intimidate or tame his opponents much similiar to Fluttershy's stare.

Flinchy Mane also has a love for singing, especially for Fluttershy and her animals. But is not always capable of doing a solo in public, and often panics if he's in the situation

Fluttershy - Flinchy Mane and Fluttershy are very close friends and have an affectionate and intimate sibling relationship, mostly since they are both very shy and lack assertiveness. They understand and find comfort in one another and even stand up for each other, almost as well as they stand up for they're other close friends.

Despite them being close companions, he seems to be frightened by Fluttershy's stare, even when she doesn't use it on him, which she never would have the heart to.This results in Fluttershy comforting and calming him down while he's shaken up.

Fluttershy sometimes playfully and lovingly teases him by "kitty-talking" him and making him blush and be sheepish. 

Drake, Tasha and Chance - They all have a soft spot for Flinchy Mane, most notably Tasha. Though they are sometimes a tad annoyed by his timidness and clumsiness. The leopards understand and look out for the shy lion and help him out

The Mane Six - The ponies sortof treat Flinchy the same way they treat Fluttershy since he is similiar to her in personality. Though being a male, they support him, give him affection like hugs, pats or even a few pecks, and if they feel like it, try to get him a soulmate, often ending in failure. 

Though Rainbow Dash once laughed at him for being a lion of cowardess, he forgive her after being threatened by an angry Fluttershy to apologize.

Angel - Though having an almost same personality as his Owner, Angel feels intimidated by him due to Flinchy's leonine physique and doesn't push him around as much, especially since he heard of what he did to the Hydra.

Princess Celestia, Luna, and Prince Zambas and Lyco - Flinchy Mane gives Zambas and Lyco  great respect and feels very comforted by the prescence of the regal lion and wolf, and is always baffled by they're kindness and nobity, same goes to the Royal Sisters.

Shining Armor and Cadence - Prince Zambas as his "Little Big Brother" since the unicorn captain always helps him around and treats him like a guy friend when meeting him. He even envys his outgoing nature.

Cadence treats Zambas sweetly, and finds the lion adorable to her, both in prescence and personality.

Discord - At first Discord was jealous of the fact that Flinchy Mane would overshadow him as being Fluttershy's best friend and even attempted to get rid of him, angering Fluttershy in the process. After being told off and forced to apologize, Discord condems himself to his thinking tree.

This fries the Pegasus as well as the lion, who starts to feel guilty that he. May have made Discord invisible. They both go over and apologize (to the point of them begging tearfully on they're knee digits) to make the stubborn draconequus forgive them. Flinchy Mane tells Discord that he'll leave Fluttershy and him alone so that he can still have his title, but Discord stops him from walking off, saying at he might have room for one more. He happily accepts and Discord earns the first guy friend, as well as a second friend to teach assertiveness to.

- Flinchy Mane's timid personality, portrayal and bursts of bravery is very similiar to the character concept of the Cowardly Lion from the Wizard of Oz series.

- Flinchy Mane and Fluttershy's cuddling and friendship is remiscenet to that of "the Lion and the Lamb"
